Balls and Strikes

Balls and Strikes
The National League was started in 1876, 150 years ago. And for 150 years, every call in every game by every umpire has been 100% right. While we all know that is not true, the net effect is true because none of those calls could be challenged.
Until 2026.
Now, balls and strikes can be challenged. And while the season is just getting started, the early results are either shocking or expected, depending on your point of view.
In challenged calls so far this year, the umpires have only been right 45% of the time.
Math is hard, and I sometimes get it wrong. But I think just 45% is a significant change from the 100% right that the umpires were for 150 years.
Finally, after 150 years, baseball has a chance to be fair (at least the balls and strikes part).
Let’s think about who is calling the balls and strikes in our lives.
Is there a challenge system?
Can we get one in place?
Or, like every MLB baseball player for the last 150 years, are you in a system that has so much power over you that it will not allow the truth to be told?
When George Orwell said, “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”, was he talking to the umpires, to us, or both?

Do you know someone that would like this?
