Wednesday One Thing - We don't need the machines

We have gone through the Ages:
Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Enlightenment, Industrial Age, Information Age.
Each one of those ages could create something new that effected our emotions. The difference that the information age brings compared to the other ages is that our emotions can now be changed by digital information. A thing that is not real.
All of the other things created by the other ages where real physical things. The new iron knife could prepare your dinner or kill your enemy, but a analog human had to power the knife and make the decision how to use it.
The technological age changes that.
Now, AI controlled digital information can create more digital information, which then can create more information, to infinity. A knife could not make another knife. This is a radical difference. This digital information can create levels of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, cortisol, adrenaline, and endorphins that our bodies have never experienced at once before. Ever. Digital information can trigger those chemicals and send them through our bodies in levels our bodies were only designed to process if we are running for our lives from a tiger. Not sitting on a couch eating Doritos while doom scrolling TikTok. Our bodies are simply not built for this, and it is have drastic effects on our minds.
Humans have just seven emotions: Joy, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, disgust, contempt.
If we make sure those seven emotions are experienced because of something that is analog instead of digital, the machines will never win, and we can get our humanity back.
Think again about the seven emotions: Joy, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, disgust, contempt.
What is controlling each those for you? Is it a digital machine or an analog human?
If you don’t think you can go 5 minutes without checking your Insta, remember that Homo sapiens (us) have been around 300,000 years! Somehow, they managed. Without a phone, they may have even found time for love and happiness. They may not have had 5G, but they did have all that mattered.
They had each other.
We can’t survive without each other. We don’t need the machines.
Do you know someone that would like this?
